　　WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to raise awareness of veterans who have lost limbs in battle, 1-800-PACK-RAT has partnered with the Wounded Warrior Project to provide transportation and storage support during the organization''s annual Soldier Rides. The Carolina Challenge kicks off Oct. 18 in Fort Bragg, N.C. and concludes in Spartanburg, S.C. Oct. 21.

1-800-PACK-RAT will transport and store the bikes of riders who participate in the Soldiers Rides, which has proved invaluable, said Woody Groton, WWP Ride Director.

"It has really alleviated my stress level of worrying about transporting the bikes to the next ride," said Groton. "I know that the bikes are safe and the storage containers are very nice."

Shawn Potwin, Fleet Director at the 1-800-Pack-Rat Operations Centers in Wake Forest, NC, is participating in the 60-mile Charity Ride portion of the event in Spartanburg. During the Charity Ride, the public can participate and accept sponsorships. Potwin, a former 10-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, has raised $3,800 for the Wounded Warrior Project thus far.

"I look at it as my way of giving back to those who have been injured in the different wars," explained Potwin. "I''m looking for other ways to become involved as well."

Three additional rides are scheduled Nov. 7-10, starting in Little Rock, Ark. and ending in Nashville, TN; Jan. 16-19, 2008 starting in Miami, Fla. and ending in Key West; and lastly a final ride March 12-15 in San Antonio, Texas and ending in Corpus Christie.
